Hello all,
Just wanted to post a brief update on the life of your mostly-absent moderator. I haven't updated my profile in years, so here is the real scoop.
I am now officially a graduate student in my last year (yah!!!), and doing my internship at a busy community health clinic in eastern Washington, and birthing in 3 hospitals. My preceptor is an FACOG, which freaked out my former midwifery school (they were intimidated) but is greatly appreciated by my new graduate school (bless 'em!), and he has been wonderful. What a blessing to find a doc who supports midwifery.
Two new baby horses this year, breathtaking little exotic beauties. One colt (already tentatively sold) and one filly (a keeper).
Still no electricity at our place, so we run off generator, but with satellite we have great internet! Our well water is fabulous, very soft and sweet, pale crystal blue, from a glacier-water underground lake. Still lots of work to do to get settled in, but so far every tree and berry shrub we planted is thriving.
We are planning to take some of our jewelry to Earth Day this Saturday in Goldendale, so if anyone is cruising the gorgeous Gorge this weekend and stops in, make sure you come by and say hello!
Love to all,
Grandma Midwife
